Job Summary
We are looking for experienced or newly qualified mental health nurses to join Regency Ward, a 20 bedded, male, acute ward located within Mill View Hospital in Hove. We primarily work with individuals aged 18-65. Our shared values within the team at Mill View are important to us, and we work collaboratively to ensure the most positive patient outcomes. This post offers the Trust's £4,000 Incentive for band 5-7 Nurses & Practitioners, as well as a relocation package up to a maximum of £8,000 (subject to terms and conditions).
Main Duties of the Job
You will work alongside an established and experienced multi-disciplinary team (MDT) including nurses, healthcare assistants, nursing associates, doctors, occupational therapy team, psychologist, pharmacy team, STR worker, and peer support worker. Responsibilities include:
1. Delivering patient-centred care supporting patients in their recovery.
2. Undertaking assessments of patients with complex mental health needs and developing care and recovery plans in collaboration with patients and their families/carers.
3. Assessing and managing risks and ensuring effective discharge of patients.
4. Participating in ward improvements and being involved in team initiatives.
Working Patterns
At Mill View, we have recently moved to working 2 shift patterns:
1. Long day: 07:00-19:30
2. Night shift: 19:00-07:30

Job Responsibilities
1. Deliver high standards of evidence-based inpatient nursing care in partnership with the team and service users.
2. Act as a primary nurse in the assessment of needs and organizing care.
3. Coordinate shifts and provide supervision for support workers and students.
4. Work within a team committed to delivering quality service.
5. Take charge of a designated clinical area and deputize as appropriate.
6. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and clinical reviews of patient care.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with current registration (mental health / LD / Adult) appropriate to the job role.
* Studying towards Diploma/Degree.
Knowledge/Experience
* Child and Adult safeguarding procedures.
* Ability to enhance care through evidence-based knowledge.
* Professional development relevant to the care group.
* Ability to assess and manage clinical risk.
* Knowledge of Mental Capacity Act (2005), including FACE documentation, DOLS, and Best Interest decisions.
