This role requires an individual who can work on their own initiative, diligent, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate results and observations in both written and verbal forms. You will have close interaction with multiple subject areas across the company, including Manufacturing, Instrumentation, Engineering and Service.
The role may require travel to customer sites of approximately 30% of time.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
1. Incoming repair assessment of field returns
2. Report writing and assisting in preparing of customer quotations.
3. Carrying out of repair and test of the field returns which could involve the following:
4. Maintain a repair tracking system to log all work and failures.
5. Work with the Service Team Leader to set up reasonable repair times and metrics and work to meet and beat them.
6. Feedback to design teams on all failures of our products to aid continuous improvement.
7. Maintain the work area to a safe and clean status, working to ESD procedures.
8. Be an active member of the team, contributing ideas for continuous improvement at all levels within the company..
9. Disassembly, parts replacement, and full reassembly of the returned units
10. Carry out component test of lasers and detectors when required.
11. Optical alignment of gas sensor sub-components including optical cells and laser modules
12. Full system test of repaired production gas analytical equipment

13. Relevant engineering degree in electronics.
14. Experience of Assembly/Test/Repair and preferably gas handling.
15. Technically proficient, and able to use scientific equipment.
16. Self-directed and motivated in a team environment.
17. Quick to learn and adapt to new situations and environments.
18. Excellent communication skills, including written and oral reporting.
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
