Marketing Administrator - 12 Month Placement
This is a hybrid role based in our Gloucester office, so you must live within a commutable distance
As part of Destination Sport Group (“DSG”), Mike Burton create and deliver major brand, customer and revenue focused ticketing and travel programmes around the globe, working in direct partnership with organisations that include the British & Irish Lions and England Rugby.
Mike Burton are excited to offer a unique placement opportunity to join their dynamic, forward thinking Marketing, Sales and Product team within Mike Burton Group and the sporting brands it manages including England Rugby Travel, Lions Rugby Travel, The Open Experiences and others. Reporting into the Marketing Manager, this role will allow you to make a real difference and have a huge impact on the co-ordination of measurable marketing and product campaigns which have a direct impact on generating sales. You must be a dynamic and driven individual who is interested in everything marketing, focusing on delivering to strategic objectives and employing the latest CRM and EDM technology. As part of the marketing and product team you will work closely with the sales teams, helping to create, launch, co-ordinate and optimise segmented and targeted B2B and B2C campaigns, while identifying and managing the customers which are key to our marketing activity. In this ‘hands-on’ role, planning and time management is key, helping to create and deliver effective and complex marketing campaigns to consumer audiences, from conception, product development, through to implementation, tracking and reporting. The main focus of the role is to drive and deliver all aspects of customer relationship management including campaigns, monitoring and segmentation.

As part of your placement role, you will work with our marketing team and learn about the systems and processes required to:
* Be an active member of the marketing team, generating new innovative marketing campaign ideas to reach our target audiences
* Assist the marketing team with the delivery of digital (including social) and traditional marketing campaigns
* Build relationships with the blogging community to enhance our online reach
* Ensure brand consistency between campaigns - supporting the brand team to ensure that stakeholders brand is consistently delivered
* Assist with proof reading while following the checking and accuracy quality assurance processes within the marketing department
* Help to build EDM marketing campaigns and list through effective use of data management through CRM
* Provide administrative support to Marketing and Product Team
* Directly liaise with print and stationary suppliers as well as working closely with our third party agencies
* Assist with Office 365 system usage - such as loading work flow into Planner and ensuring that Teams/Files are up to date
* Manage relationships with the Finance team to ensure smooth payment of Marketing invoices (creation of PO, administration of incoming invoices)
* Support the management of the department with travel and admin requirements
* Any other duties reasonably required.

To be eligible for our placement year, you must:
* Be currently studying a relevant university course
* Be able to confirm with your university that you are eligible to carry out a 12 month placement as part of your course
* Have the relevant right to work in the UK (Unfortunately we are unable to provide sponsorship for placement students)
* Be happy to work from our Gloucester, UK office
* Be ready to start the placement between June - September 2025
To be successful within this role, our ideal candidate will:
* Be enthusiastic individual with a good level of administration skills and rigorous attention to detail
* Demonstrate a keen interest in our industry and core offering of sports business and/or travel
* Be passionate about marketing with a genuine interest in keeping up to date with industry news, trends and best practice
* Previous experience in campaign planning, which will include all of the steps of a campaign from conception to implementation and reporting would be highly advantageous
* Previous experience and a good working knowledge of Microsoft CRM, email marketing and Google Analytics is highly desirable
* Have an understanding of marketing mix including online and offline channels
* Be computer literate with strong IT Skills, in particular Microsoft Office packages including Excel
* Be able to generate ideas and solutions including problem solving
* Have a proactive approach to the role and its tasks, ask questions and learn from our experienced wider group marketing team
* Possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal with confidence to communicate to those at all levels of seniority
* Be detail orientated, organised and reliable as well as an out of the box thinker
* Demonstrate the ability to prioritise workload and multitask within a fast paced environment often working on multiple campaigns simultaneously
* Be confident in an office environment, with excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate to both internal and external stakeholders
* Be committed to the placement training programme, with a willingness to develop and learn new skills
* Be great team player, happy to ‘help out’ in other areas across the business and learn from the existing team
