We have an amazing opportunity for a Maintenance Officer to join our caring and support team at our Hothfield Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre, our specialist centre in Kent, where we look after adults with a brain injury or other neurological conditions.
Set within the 12-acre grounds of a manor house, we specialise in intensive rehabilitation for people in the early stages of recovery from a brain injury right through to residential care.
What you'll be working:
1. Full time
2. Must drive and have a valid UK driving licence.
3. 37.5 hours per week
4. Monday to Friday with half hour unpaid break.
What you'll be doing:
1. Create maintenance plans, making reference to audits, reports, proposals, and finance projections.
2. Undertake compliance PPM checks.
3. Provide a general maintenance service and identify/rectify building defects, including carrying out maintenance work in Units, as required, e.g., changing washers, decorating, putting up shelves.
4. Undertake minor electrical and plumbing repair work.
5. Undertake grounds maintenance work as required.
6. Be responsible for the transportation and escorting of our service users.
7. Work closely with the managers, ensuring that service users are transported to all timetabled events, including activities, therapies, and hospital appointments.
8. General weekly maintenance of company vehicle.
9. Work at varying locations if required.
10. Perform ad hoc duties when required, e.g., collecting and returning items to head office.
What you'll have:
1. Previous experience in a similar maintenance/caretaking role.
2. Relevant qualification, e.g., CIOB/CIH Housing Maintenance qualification.
3. Hold a full and clean current driving license.
4. Experience in a general maintenance role, including carrying out minor building repairs.
5. Ability to work with clients who have epilepsy and severe learning disabilities.
6. Awareness of all Health and Safety regulations.
7. Ability to work on own initiative.
8. Organisational, time management, and planning skills.
9. Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
