You will be qualified to Diploma or Degree level in Environmental Health and as a member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the Council implements and meets its statutory duties. You will help to deliver food safety, food standards, health and safety, infectious disease control as well as contribute to the Council’s wider public health remit. Specific duties include undertaking food safety and standards inspections, food sampling, investigating complaints, dealing with health and safety issues and investigating cases of infectious disease. You will be responsible for your own case load being both proactive and reactive to a range of demands in a very fast paced environment. This will involve assessing intelligence, undertaking investigations, providing advice, and preparing notices and reports for enforcement. This is a hybrid post working from one of our Council offices within the borough, as well as the opportunity to work from home.
