About the Role??Each Street Works Officer is assigned a geographical area within Surrey where they will be responsible for monitoring works on our network.

As a Street Works Officer your day will begin by interrogating software systems to gain a complete picture of the inspections that are available and required to be completed that day. In particular, identifying those works which are a high priority, on our most traffic sensitive routes, and most likely to cause disruption. You will also read/ respond to the enquiries from our residents and aim to create an efficient inspection route that will include any areas requiring a site visit, relating to those enquiries.
The bulk of the day will be spent in your geographical area of cover and will include carrying out those prioritised inspections and investigating the residents' enquiries. Every day varies and will present its own challenges and rewards as you work with others to resolve traffic management problems, improve their works layout for safety or to reduce congestion. At the end of your working day, you will tidy up any 'loose ends' of administration and prepare for your next day.
