Job Description
We are looking to recruit Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians who have completed their Apprenticeship scheme and wish to continue to train and develop their skills within the Automation arena. You will join the Engineering team and be someone who wants to develop and grow with the business as we repurpose the Shotton Mill site in constructing the UK’s largest state-of-the-art containerboard machine and tissue machines.
You will be involved in:
* Providing specialist engineering support to the manufacturing production lines, which include - Biofuel Power plant, Waste Wood processing plant, Effluent treatment plant, Tissue Machines, MRRF recycling facility and support systems.
* Responding to plant breakdowns with the Automation team, methodically diagnosing faults to ensure the equipment is running again in a timely manner.
* Using and developing your technical training to be involved in root cause investigations, identify solutions to problems and implement solutions.
* Commissioning support for small improvement projects and major projects, such as Biomass treatment, CHP and Low-pressure condensing turbine plant.
* Conducting weekly/ bi-weekly and monthly routine work, such as instrument calibrations, visual routes, electrical safety checks, fire system function checks, periodic electrical safety inspections
* Writing/maintaining onsite electrical procedures and risk assessments
* Maintaining and updating electrical and instrumentation documentation
Professional requirement:
You will have completed a 4+ year Apprenticeship scheme and educated to HNC level or above in Electrical/ Electronic/ instrumentation or equivalent. You will be fluent in English both in speaking and writing.
Specialist Skills
* Be able to interpret P&ID, electrical schematic and control loop diagrams
* Experience of AC or DC inverter drives, fault finding, commissioning and programming
* Maintenance and calibration of instrumentation equipment
* Knowledge of PLC’s and DCS programming/modifications/improvements.
* Being a Self-starter and hard working with the ability to work as a team player and grow with the Business
* Ability to work in a changing environment with a flexible approach.
* •Good knowledge and understanding of health and safety
Working Conditions
You will work on-site within the Utilities production area and within a Project village within a major construction site.
The ability to travel both within the UK and overseas to further develop your skills is essential for this position.
