Job Description Senior Distribution Manager, EMEA - The New York Times International Edition The New York Times is dedicated to helping people understand the world through on-the-ground, expert and deeply reported independent journalism. The New York Times is seeking a Senior Distribution Manager to manage daily print distribution operations for the International Edition, covering the EMEA region. Key responsibilities include ensuring a successful daily distribution of the paper across newsstands, B2B clients and individual subscribers; vendor management; supply and logistics; contract negotiations; forecasts and budgeting; and special print operations. The ideal candidate will also be able to provide strategic recommendations and assist in future-mapping the print business. This includes streamlining operations, identifying synergies and cost savings, and improving systems, structures, and processes. Solid knowledge of the current distribution vendor ecosystem in EMEA and experience in the newspaper publishing industry will be essential to success. The manager will operate in a relatively matrixed environment in view of the size of the team and the demands of the business. The role involves working with a number of internal (advertising, finance, technology, legal, customer care) and external customers (printers, distributors, transporters, etc) It will require a keen sense of distributed staff management skills as well the ability to travel to meet vendors based throughout our various markets.
