Job Description:
Job Purpose:
* Taking a leading role in the management of Anti-Social Behaviour and Domestic Abuse Case Work, working in conjunction with internal and external agencies to assess risk of victims of Domestic Abuse and implement safety measures and robust support packages for victims.
* Proactively support improvement by providing advice on national and local changes in anti-social behaviour and domestic abuse policy and changes to statutory duty.
* Maximising all opportunities for support to vulnerable tenants as part of managing and mitigating the risks of tenancy failure and impacting positively on unacceptable behaviours.
* Ensuring that breaches of tenancy are appropriately and proportionately responded to in the Council's capacity as a responsible social landlord.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Undertaking interviews and Risk Assessments with victims, their families where appropriate and perpetrators of abuse as needed, to analyse and evaluate information to provide a holistic assessment of risk and need.
* Assessing and balancing risk and protective factors within a legislative, best practice and policy framework.
* Communicating effectively with victims, their families where appropriate and perpetrators as needed, ensuring that their views are heard and recorded accurately.
* Establishing rapport and building a respectful, honest, and safe relationship with victims, their families where appropriate and perpetrators as needed.
* Providing and presenting written and verbal reports which are concise, informative and based on analysis of complex evidence.
* Ensuring all matters in respect of child and adult safeguarding are dealt with promptly, effectively and in line with procedures.
* Ensuring the ongoing assessment and management of risk to prevent and mitigate the potential for harm to any resident.
Requirements:
* Ability and willingness to attend out of hours meetings and visits to meet the needs of residents and the service.
* Full driving licence and use of a vehicle at all times.
* Demonstrable experience of successfully managing a complex Domestic Abuse and ASB case load to a successful conclusion.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Experience of identifying and effectively responding to the risk factors associated with tenancy failure on a one-to-one basis and as part of a collaborative approach.
* The ability to work flexibly as an 'agent of change' who can build capacity, resilience and confidence as part of preventing and breaking cycles of domestic abuse and anti-social behaviour.
* Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months.
* Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if you do not currently hold one.
