Job summary
Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board are currently recruiting for a Locum Consultant Gastroenterologist, for 1 year.
The successful applicant will join a team of 4 other gastroenterologists based at Prince Charles Hospital who have specialty interests of IBD, nutrition, and HPB medicine respectively. A complementary subspecialty interest would be welcomed: we would welcome applicants who can bring a new skillset to the team, who has an enthusiasm for developing their skills, and designing new services. We would especially welcome consultants with an interest in advanced endoscopy, or bowel cancer screening colonoscopy.
Main duties of the job
In a full 10-session job plan, a minimum session allocated for your own CPD, audit, job planning and revalidation and further sessions allocated to essential management or teaching tasks within the service. SPA up to 3 sessions can be agreed in job planning where other specific activities such as educational supervision, audit or governance lead may be taken on and recognised. Any post working less than 10 sessions will be organized with a pro rata split between DCC and SPA and anyone interested in a job plan less than 10 sessions or who has specific working day requests is advised to contact a member of the directorate team to discuss their requirements.
The Job Plan will be the subject of annual (or more frequent if necessary) discussion between the successful incumbent and the Clinical Director for Medicine and A&E.
The proposed provisional rota is based on a 4 week cycle involving 2 weeks covering the wards.
