This innovative, challenging and highly aspirational strategy requires a specialist public health officer, focusing on healthy weight to join the growing healthy weight team and support the delivery of the strategy. This role presents a significant opportunity for personal and professional growth as part of a high performing healthy weight team, shaping a cutting edge and high quality process of strategy into action, developing the necessary capability and capacity to implement the healthy weight strategy, working with a wide range of stakeholders. The work will involve: Leading on some healthy weight project delivery and supporting delivery of other projects and programmes.Supporting, and in some cases leading, commissioning and procurement processes for healthy weight work.Working with a wide range of stakeholders across a range of settings to develop and deliver work for both places and people.Developing personal and professional influence to help focus collective work on the things likely to make the biggest impact.Supporting the monitoring and reporting of activity towards achieving the healthy weight strategy outcomes.Supporting the development of the necessary infrastructure, capability and capacity at county and more local level to deliver the healthy weight strategy. You will bring…Educated to degree level and/or appropriate professional qualification relevant to the field, or equivalent by experienceSpecialist knowledge of the obesity / healthy weight agenda is advantageous, but not essential.Proven track record of successfully delivering outcomes.Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately, including the ability to inspire and gain the confidence and participation with a range of internal and external stakeholders and engagement partners.Ability to work across multiple strands of work and balance time to effectively deliver against the objectives.Ability to understand and use evidence base and insight to shape, influence and inspire a range of stakeholders.Knowledge and experience of all aspects of the commissioning cycle, project life cycle and related activities gained within a commissioning environment. Experience of delivery of public services and managing change in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. Experience of working in a political environment, working effectively with members and senior officers across the council and partner agencies.
