Salary: GBP30000 - GBP42000 per annum
Simply Education is recruiting on behalf of an outstanding SEND School in Leyland. The school is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher, ideally with a science specialism, to join their nurturing environment. The school offers tailored academic and therapeutic support to students aged 9-16, and the ideal candidate will be committed to delivering high-quality teaching in small classes, with the support of one or two teaching assistants to create an impactful learning experience.
In your new role, you will:
* Plan and deliver lessons aligned with a broad and balanced curriculum, adhering to DfE guidance and the school’s policies, including reflective practice.
* Oversee the daily operations of the class, contributing to the wider school activities and ensuring smooth running of the day-to-day routine.
* Assess, record, and report on pupils' progress in line with school policy, encouraging progress across all areas of learning.
* Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students, following school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and PREVENT initiatives.
* Lead and support Assistant Teachers and Higher-Level Teaching Assistants, conducting Professional Development Reviews to foster their professional growth.
* Attend and actively contribute to teachers' meetings, multi-disciplinary meetings, and other relevant staff sessions.
* Ensure a high standard of personal care for students, collaborating with care staff, medical teams, and behaviour support professionals to monitor their health and well-being.
Qualifications:
* PGCE Primary or Secondary qualified with QTS / QTLS
* Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
* Experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including behaviours that challenge
