The Henley College is hiring a motivated and ambitious Sports Therapist to support the Head Coach and Programme Manager in delivering exceptional care and rehabilitation programmes for the high-performance rugby programme. This includes planning, practical delivery, pitch side support for training and fixtures as well as administrative support for the Girl’s and Boy’s Rugby programmes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the Head Coach and Programme Manager with the planning, operational delivery and continual review of the medical provision within the Performance Programmes.
2. Support the Head Coach and Programme Manager to build a positive team environment ensuring the students, facilities and medical equipment are prepared and maintained.
3. Plan, design and deliver high-quality prehab and rehab interventions in line with the students’ needs and aspirations.
4. Be available to travel to all fixtures home and away and provide acute intervention: Diagnosing sports-related injuries (National travel included).
5. Keep accurate reports of all interventions and support provided to students ensuring to inform parents where needed.
6. Contribute to all team meetings, including weekly team reviews and strategic planning.
7. Form strong working relationships with the players, parents and key stakeholders such as academies/PDGs.
8. Actively support the Head Coach and Programme Manager by mentoring students in the rugby programmes.
9. Help plan and deliver regular recruitment events for both the Girl’s and Boy’s performance programmes including open evenings and trials.
10. Drive a minibus to support the programme’s day-to-day operations (Training will be provided).
11. Engage beyond the rugby programmes in support of The Henley College and its students.
Criteria
1. Hold a Pre-Hospital Immediate Care in Sport (PHICIS) Level 2 qualification (essential).
2. Have a sports therapy qualification or currently working towards one (essential).
3. Hold a current driving license (essential).
4. Complete minibus training (D1) within the first 6 months in post if not currently qualified (essential).
5. Ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents, students and key stakeholders (essential).
6. Experience of working within performance sport environments or academies with aspirational players (desirable).
7. Have a desire to learn, grow and develop with an openness to change and be stretched (essential).
8. Flexible and adaptable approach to working hours.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
10. Ability to deal well with pressure and multi-task.
Terms of Employment
Tenure of post: Permanent, Part Time, All Year Round
Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:30 – 17:00, Friday: 08:30 – 16:30.
