The Best Connection are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Forklift Fitter/Engineer to work on up to 30 tonne FLT in the Hull area. This role involves the full repair, refurbishment, and maintenance of our extensive stock of heavy-handling machinery, as well as providing exceptional after-sales service and support to customers. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded engineer with experience across various engineering disciplines, including mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities:
Repair and Refurbishment: Fully repair and refurbish forklifts and other heavy-handling equipment, working both in our workshops and on-site at customer locations.
Diagnostics: Use schematic drawings and machine manuals to diagnose and identify faults, ensuring all machinery is in optimal working condition.
Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including servicing, part replacements, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Workshop Management: Maintain the mechanical workshop, managing communal tools, equipment, and consumables, and performing open and shut down procedures.
Customer Support: Provide excellent after-sales service, assisting customers with machinery maintenance and resolving issues promptly.
Workload Management: Manage your workload efficiently, maintaining accurate timesheets and collaborating across departments to achieve company goals.Required Qualifications and Skills:
Level 3 Qualification in Engineering or equivalent.
At least 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong emphasis on forklift repair.
Proficient in using mechanical power tools, workshop machinery, and capable of working offsite with minimal equipment.
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to identify and repair faulty components.
Compliance with health and safety regulations.
Driving License.

Job Details:
Pay: £17.50 - £18.50 per hour dependant on skills and experiance, with annual pay reviews.
Hours: 40-hour workweek with overtime opportunities (x1.5 hourly for overtime, x2 hourly for Sundays and Bank Holidays).
Additional Pay: Bonus scheme, Loyalty bonus, and Average overtime holiday pay.

Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for overtime and weekend availability.
