Youth Worker - Secondary School - Blackpool

The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Youth Worker to join our pastoral support team. You will play a vital role in providing support, guidance, and mentor-ship to students, helping them to overcome challenges, develop essential life skills, and achieve their full potential. This role will involve working both with individual students and in small groups, contributing to a positive and supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, focusing on their social, emotional, and behavioural well-being.
Develop and implement targeted intervention strategies to address specific student needs.
Mentor and guide students, fostering positive relationships and promoting their personal and social development.
Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and parents to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
Contribute to the development and delivery of workshops and programs aimed at enhancing students' life skills, resilience, and self-esteem.
Support students in managing their behaviour and promoting a positive and respectful school culture.
Liaise with external agencies and support services when necessary.
Maintain accurate records of interventions and student progress.
Participate in relevant school meetings and professional development opportunities.
Contribute to safeguarding and child protection within the school environment.About You:
Proven experience working as a Youth Worker or in a similar role supporting young people.
A strong understanding of the challenges faced by secondary school students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A positive and proactive approach with a genuine passion for supporting young people's development.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Knowledge of safeguarding practices and child protection procedures.
Relevant qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work, Education, or a related field are desirable.Desirable:
Experience working within a school or educational setting.
Knowledge of Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND).
Experience delivering group work or workshops.
Team Teach or similar behaviour management training.Location: Blackpool, Lancashire
Contract Type: 5 days a week ongoing.
Salary: Upwards of £96 per day minimum.
Start Date: April 2025 & September 2025.
