The role holder will be required to join the team within the Typhoon Maintenance Unit (TMU) at RAF Coningsby as an Avionics Maintenance Support Engineer. This role involves supporting shop floor maintenance engineers through the evaluation of maintenance faults, general maintenance support, and the development & improvement of the IMS JIC library. Additionally, ad-hoc project support may be required as directed by the Senior MSE. This is an on-base role and involves shift work (days and nights).
Core Duties
The job role will involve:
1. Supporting shop floor maintenance engineers through evaluation of maintenance faults.
2. General maintenance support.
3. Development & improvement of the IMS JIC library.
4. Providing ad-hoc project support as directed by the Senior MSE.
Leadership Responsibilities
This role does not have any supervisory responsibilities but may be required to support an apprentice placement in the team once experienced.
Budget Responsibilities
The role holder will not have any direct budget responsibilities; however, an understanding of correct contract tagging of emergent work faults will be taught and must be strictly adhered to.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
1. Typhoon Avionics depth maintenance experience (essential).
2. Experience of using IMS Maintenix (essential).
3. Experience of using Trilogiview (essential).
4. Experience of evaluating Typhoon maintenance emergent work faults (highly desirable).
5. Typhoon Avionics Q course (desirable).
6. Knowledge of ESS and Resolve and WDMS toolsets (desirable).
7. Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
