Our fantastic Capital Projects team is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join them at an incredibly exciting time for the business. This is a regional role and will cover our North & Scotland region.
You'll be assisting with the delivery of the commercial aspects of all projects undertaken by the Capital Projects Team. This will include cost estimating and benchmarking, inflation forecasting, cost control, reporting on all financial aspects from inception through to practical completion. This role will support in implementing build contracts and manage project budgets according to Board approved levels.
What You'll Be Doing
* Work collaboratively with the Capital Projects Team to both maximise returns and derisk delivery.
* Manage and develop relationships with framework contractors and consultants.
* Providing strategic input on process, design and delivery of a project including value engineering, risk and programme.
* Methodically and efficiently prepare and distribute all relevant contractual documents to contractors on schemes.
* Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of relevant budgets.
* Collaborating with existing framework contractors, ensuring ongoing performance, value and quality.
* Work alongside the Commercial Manager in the tender/negotiation process.
* Offer support to the Commercial Manager and Procurement department, in implementing and collating construction contracts in an accurate, timely and contractually robust manner.
What We're Looking for in You
* Experience in a Quantity Surveying / Commercial management role, preferably for a contractor, though client side also considered.
* Experience with contractual documents (JCT, NEC etc.).
* Possess a positive and collegiate attitude, with the ability to adapt swiftly.
* Evidence of working in a fast-paced, high change environment and able to manage multiple demands effectively.
* Well developed communication and influencing skills, able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a willingness to participate and present in meetings at various levels.
* Ability to build relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to travel throughout the UK with a full driving licence.
