Job Opportunity: Care Assistant
Pay Rate: £12.44 an hour + Mileage paid.
Immediate Start: (£24,258 per annum + Mileage)
Contracted hours: 37.5 hours a week, across 7 days between 6.30am - 9.30pm
Location: East Kent Area (Thanet, Sandwich, Deal, Dover, Canterbury, Whistable, Herne Bay)
Purpose of the Role:
To support customers with all aspects of their day-to-day living, so they can enjoy the best possible quality of life. You will most likely work alone with the customer in their home. Providing care and support offers many rewards but can also be challenging. Compassion, good communication skills, and a calm and caring manner are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide anti-discriminatory care and support
2. Assist with personal care such as showering, bathing, dressing, grooming, dental hygiene, toileting, and continence care
3. Assist with medication, ordering and collecting prescriptions, or returning unwanted medicines to the pharmacy for safe disposal
4. Support the customer to eat and drink, including meal planning, encouragement, shopping, preparing, and serving food and drinks
5. Ensure safe use of aids and personal equipment such as walking frames, wheelchairs, hoists, and hearing aids
6. Engage in social, physical, or mental stimulation activities with the customers
7. Provide quality care through temporary and terminal illnesses, including end-of-life care
8. Record all care duties through an in-house system app
9. Report any changes to customers' conditions or other concerns
10. Respond to emergencies, accidents, incidents, and safeguarding matters
11. Be prepared to work in various environments, including clients' homes with pets

Requirements for the Role:
1. Must attend initial training and participate in ongoing training
2. Satisfactory criminal records check and evidence of no barring from working with vulnerable people
3. Full driver license with no more than 6 points, Class 1 business insurance, and current MOT (if using own car for business purposes)
4. A relevant care and/or health qualification
5. Previous experience as a Care Assistant or unpaid carer
6. Knowledge of recognizing abuse and safeguarding procedures
7. Flexible approach to working
