This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established Occupational Health and Wellbeing Team in the West Midlands area.
The post-holder will work with the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service (OHWBS) manager to jointly lead the service and support the multidisciplinary team. The core service hours are 8.30am - 16.30 Monday - Friday (there will be no on-call requirements). The OHWBS is responsible for the health and wellbeing of Trust staff based at all three sites: New Cross, West Park, and Cannock. Additionally, income generation is sought through contract work, which currently includes Stafford and Cannock Council, Compton Care, and NHS England.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be instrumental in promoting the success of the Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service, ensuring that clients receive a quality service based on the principles of clinical governance. The primary outcome will be achieving the highest standards of occupational health, maximizing the use of resources, and exploiting development opportunities to their fullest potential. In conjunction with the Specialist Occupational Health Nurses, the post holder will demonstrate specialist knowledge and expertise in Occupational Health as a clinician, educator, advisor, and advocate. A key facet of the role will be to empower staff within the field and act as a change agent and role model, ensuring good working relationships.

Job responsibilities
1. Advise management regarding the working environment in relation to specific health issues, the occurrence and significance of identified hazards, and the health aspects of safety, including statutory requirements.
2. Ensure development and review of policies and plans in conjunction with other Occupational Health (OH) staff for the further development of the service.
3. Be involved in research (where applicable), medical audit, the organisation's Clinical Governance processes, and in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
4. Complete annual updates in mandatory training.
5. Ensure that all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard and in accordance with current quality initiatives, particularly ensuring compliance with SEQOHS standards.
6. Respect confidentiality and comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulations 2018 when processing, accessing, or transferring data, in line with the organisation's policies.
7. Actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning clinical governance and audit, promoting and introducing a safety and just culture to the Trust.
8. Contribute to and influence the formulation of strategic management of staff health and wellbeing, safety, and welfare issues to enable a safer, healthier environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
9. Articulate the Trust vision, ambition, and strategic priorities with particular emphasis on Occupational Health and Wellbeing (OHWB).
10. Champion staff health and wellbeing in line with Trust values, so that staff recommend Wolverhampton as a place to work and a place to be treated.
