About the Role
* As a Resource Base Teacher, you are expected to uphold the Teacher Standards. These standards set the expectations for teaching, professional behavior, and development, ensuring that all students receive high-quality education.
* Plan and deliver high-quality, adaptive lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEND.
* Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated in line with student progress.
* Utilize a range of teaching strategies, resources, and assistive technology to support and enhance learning outcomes for SEND students.
* Promote an inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, safe, and able to achieve their full potential.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff.
* Act as a key point of contact and support for students within the resource base on effective strategies for these students.
* Support teaching assistants and other staff in their roles in the classroom, offering guidance and feedback on best practices.
* Collaborate with curriculum leaders to ensure children within the resource base study the full curriculum.
* Work closely with parents and carers to communicate progress, provide support, and involve them in their child’s educational journey.
* Liaise with external professionals, such as educational psychologists, speech therapists, and other specialists, to secure additional support for SEND students where necessary.
* Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, including EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) reviews.
* Track and report on the progress of SEND students, analysing data to evaluate the impact of interventions and teaching strategies.
* Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and maintain accurate and detailed records of student progress and support.
* Promote the safeguarding and wellbeing of all students, ensuring that the school’s safeguarding policies are followed at all times.
* Foster a positive and inclusive school culture where diversity and differences are celebrated and respected.

* Evidence of CPD.
* Current teaching experience.
* Experience of working with children with additional needs.
* Set high expectations for pupil behaviour, establishing and maintaining a good standard of discipline through well-focused teaching through positive and productive relationships.
* Clear personal philosophy of education.
* Outstanding inter-personal relationships.
* Commitment to teamwork.
* Good working knowledge of national curriculum.
* Detailed knowledge of SEND code of practice.
* Awareness of the needs of pupils with educational/social disadvantage.
* Understands a range of current issues.
* Competent with the use of ICT.
* Demonstrate the ability to analyse and interpret pupil data and tracking to apply findings to future learning needs.
* Willingness to embrace change.
* Willingness to accept responsibility for CPD.

* Evidence of ability to form good relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues and Governors.
* Good communication skills.
Desirable:
* A good honours degree or equivalent Higher degree or other relevant qualifications.
* SENDCo award.
* Leadership of curriculum areas.
* Cognition and learning experience/CPD.
* Experience of working with external agencies.
* Experience of annual reviews and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* SEND-specific qualification (NASENCo) or willingness to undertake within three years.
* Experience in working with students with a wide range of SEND, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and physical or sensory impairments.
* Understanding of developments and initiatives in primary education.
* Evidence of outside interests.
* Willing to show wholehearted commitment to the school and all its activities.
* Demonstrate an active contribution to the policies and aspirations of the school.
