Job Title: Passive IT Infrastructure Consultant
Location: Hybrid Working – Home-based with visits to London office and project sites as required

We are seeking an experienced Passive IT Infrastructure Consultant with a strong understanding of RIBA design and delivery stages to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with excellent organizational and communication skills, along with significant experience collaborating on client projects with industry design professionals such as M&E consultants and interior designers.
The successful candidate will be able to effectively capture client requirements and translate them into accurate, fully coordinated designs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design of building and floor distributors (communications rooms), including size, location, and IT-related mechanical and electrical requirements (e.g., power and air conditioning).
* Develop designs for IT risers and carrier entry points, including quantity, location, size, and containment types.
* Define communications room fire strategies, including detection, prevention, and suppression.
* Specify spatial requirements for leak detection within comms rooms.
* Address architectural, security, and connectivity spatial requirements.
* Determine structural load and DAS (Distributed Antenna System) space and connectivity needs.
* Create and maintain project budgets.
* Design horizontal cabling solutions for high- and low-level connectivity needs.
* Establish backbone copper and fiber cabling requirements.
* Define installation methodologies, including cable routing, containment, and management in coordination with co-consultants.
* Specify equipment cabinets, patching frames, and layouts.
* Define labeling standards and structured cabling testing parameters.
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of CDM requirements.
* Participate in client, architect, and contractor meetings to ensure smooth design and construction processes.
* Conduct inspections of site work and workmanship.
* Evaluate new products and systems to enhance project outcomes.
Required Skills:
* In-depth knowledge of passive infrastructure technology and equipment.
* Proficiency in requirements gathering, task prioritization, and scheduling.
* Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and tools like Outlook, Teams, and Bluebeam.
* Experience with AutoCAD (intermediate level preferred but not essential).
