Description The Education Welfare Team is looking for a creative, experienced professional to take the position of the Primary cohort lead for Children who are open to Social Care. Initially the post will be for a 12-month fixed term, term time only. Working on the principle that children are safer in school, the team will work towards reducing the number of vulnerable children that are not attending school, being suspended/excluded or, do not have a school roll, guided by legislation and policy. This will be a fast-paced team involving high profile, complex case working, alongside some key multi-agency cross working and careful liaison with other teams within the Education Welfare Service. You should have an eye for detail, enjoy challenge and have a thorough knowledge of key themes within the current education climate. Ideally you will be an experienced SENDCO with current/recent Primary School experience and some experience of working with children with additional social challenges, including THRIVE/TIS training. There will be opportunities to undertake specific research within this cohort and develop resources and training to support your cohort.
