You hold a degree in a technical or related scientific discipline and have extensive hands-on experience. Your expertise includes HACCP, compliance auditing, and managing food safety and quality systems. You are known for your ability to achieve targets, drive continuous improvement, and maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail. Your excellent communication and influencing skills enable you to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and you are adept at handling confidential information with integrity.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This role, based at our Coleford Manufacturing plant, involves developing, maintaining, and continually improving the quality management systems at the site. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, you will ensure compliance with all relevant industry and certification standards. You will own and manage the site Food Safety Quality management system, including HACCP, Pest Control, Change Control, Internal Audit, and more. Your responsibilities will also include supporting external audits, providing training in Food Safety and Quality Systems, and participating in quality and food safety review meetings. Additionally, you will support continuous improvement initiatives and help achieve site and departmental targets.
WHAT I NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
To excel in this role, you need:
* A degree in a technical or related scientific discipline.
* Broad, hands-on experience in a manufacturing or technical environment, particularly with food and/or beverage products.
* Certification in HACCP and auditing skills, ideally to a GFSI standard level.
* Operational knowledge of food and beverage production.
* A proven track record of achieving targets for yourself and your teams.
* Knowledge of relevant industry and certification standards such as ISO, FSSC, and GMP.
* Strong technical understanding of manufacturing standards.
* Experience in compliance auditing and closing out corrective actions.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels of the business.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* A flexible and proactive approach, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
* Proficiency in IT skills and the use of available tools.
* The tenacity to drive best practices and embed change.
