About the Role
Connex Education is working in partnership with primary schools in Carlton and Gedling (NG4) to offer a long-term Teaching Assistant position. This role will involve working 5 days a week, providing the opportunity to make a real difference in a stable and consistent educational environment.
As a successful Teaching Assistant, you will be matched to work within one or more of the primary schools in the Carlton and Gedling area. You will be responsible for supporting children in the early years with Phonics (Read, Write Inc) and assisting older year groups with SATs preparation. Your passion for improving children’s learning experiences will be essential, as you help students achieve their developmental goals and enjoy their time at school.
Duties will include providing general classroom support for KS1 and KS2, facilitating learning through play, and running small group interventions for pupils who need additional help. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers to support students in reaching their learning objectives.

The role will commence ASAP and will run for the rest of the academic year, requiring a commitment of 5 days a week.

Person Specification
* Experience working with children aged 4–11 years
* Willingness to support children on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
* Strong behaviour management skills
* Knowledge of Phonics and Read, Write Inc
* Organised, reliable, and proactive
* Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to process a new one
* Willing to go the extra mile
