Job Title: Sales Manager
Reports To: Profit Centre Manager
Job Purpose Statement:
To lead and manage the Internal Sales Team to achieve Sales and GP targets; to assist the Sales Admin and PCM to support the business needs to achieve annual forecast
Job Accountabilities:
Lead the Internal Sales Team with line management responsibility for 3 colleagues. Manage, mentor, train and develop a high performing team in the sales office. Be an example of best practice and motivate the team to achieve more
Work with Profit Centre Manager, External Sales and Internal Sales Team to agree key and target accounts within defined territories. Agree targets for individual customer accounts, for each of the Internal Sales Team and for the team as a whole
Report daily / monthly / YTD sales & GP figures vs. agreed targets
Work with your team, External Sales and PCM to increase sales and GP within existing accounts. Be a driving force in ensuring the Profit Centre achieves annual forecast for sales and GP
Set and monitor individual performance targets for you and your team. Collate and report productivity stats for the business
To hold regular meetings with the Internal Sales to discuss sales, profitability, opportunities and improvements across the business
Develop and manage a pro-active call out programme, for the internal sales team, whilst taking personal responsibility for a defined customer base
Manage the sales inbox to ensure customer enquiries and orders are picked up by the relevant team member and actioned promptly
Ensure any sales admin tasks are completed to comply with the Company’s Standard Practice Instructions (SPI’s)
Working with Admin and Operations to ensure action is taken on slow moving or obsolete products
Liaise with key suppliers to capitalise on sales opportunities, satisfy customer needs and consolidate sales. Periodically organise product training
Improve accuracy of orders placed to reduce credits. Assist Sales Admin in settling any customer claims for credit promptly
To be the main point of contact for Credit Control, understand their requirements and liaise with them regularly to avoid payment issues
Manage holidays, absences, events etc. to ensure an adequate level of resource within the team
Consistently drive process improvements to ensure the Profit Centre operates as smoothly and efficiently as possible. To carry out any other reasonable tasks which may become necessary
