Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen in the Research Development and Innovation Directorate to support the merger and expansion of the Trust's R&D service.
The post holder will play a key role in the development and implementation of the financial tracking and monitoring of research activities across all of the Trust's sites. This will involve helping with costing & contracting for research activity and ensuring research activity is invoiced for in a timely manner, dealing with queries associated with this, and facilitating research teams to understand the research processes. This will involve working closely with staff involved in the wider invoicing process such as Finance, Governance Team, and Senior R&D Management to ensure accurate reporting and review of activity.
The post holder will have knowledge of the Trust's finance systems.
The post holder must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work on their own initiative as well as in a team environment. They must have a flexible approach to this growing post and department. The post holder will need to communicate with a range of staff groups and tailor information to ensure it is easily understood. This post will be based at both the Heartlands and QE sites but will be required to travel between all Trust sites.
Main Duties of the Job
The post holder is a key member of the Research Governance Team, taking a lead role in organising, accurately recording, monitoring, and scheduling a range of activities to facilitate the opening and invoicing/financial management of research studies.
Whilst the main focus of the post holder's work will be on data gathering, interpretation, analysis, and actioning to support clinical trials, the post holder may also provide support to other ongoing workstreams within Research Development & Innovation.
They will act as a representative of the department both internally and externally, providing exceptional customer service.

Qualifications Essential
* GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent numeracy and literacy
* A levels or equivalent of ONC in Business Studies plus experience in undertaking a range of work procedures
* NVQ3 with experience in undertaking a range of work procedures
Experience Essential
* Evidence of a methodical approach and effective organisational skills
* Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (Outlook, Excel, Word)
