The People Services directorate is responsible for developing people strategies, policy, practice, and delivering People services which support strategic objectives, improve staff engagement, comply with legislation, and support organisational culture development and the embedding of organisational values.
Our whole ethos is to provide a customer focused quality service to the trust business units and corporate departments through the provision of the following:
• Expert people advice and guidance (strategic and operational) to business units and services across the trust.
• Core employee relations and case management advice and support.
The NHS People Plan published in July 2020 which includes Our People Promise are at the heart of everything we do and should underpin all our actions.
A key role for our service is to bring the People Promise to life and make it a reality for each and everyone of our colleagues.
It's an exciting time for our service as we are in the early stages of working with key stakeholders to develop a new People Strategy which covers the four chapters of the People Plan.
You will support the People Services Business Partner and Advisor team by providing professional support and advice to Managers and staff across a
range of employee relations matters and the application of Trust policies.
To support the delivery of ‘a great place to be cared for; a great place to work’ through effective engagement in a responsive, high quality and
‘employee-centric’ People function.
To ensure that all employee related issues are comprehensively and effectively addressed through proactive, employee centric and best practice advice and delivery.
To provide professional support and advice to managers and colleagues in the organisation across the range of employee relations matters.
To assist in the full range of People activities, including minute taking where appropriate.
We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
This is a B4 training role. The successful candidate will be provided with in-house training for a 12 month period. During the training period, the successful candidate will paid under Annex 21 of Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions; namely, up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75 per cent of the pay band maximum. Thereafter, the successful candidate will be paid at a band 4 rate.
