Job Summary
An unique opportunity has arisen to join our team of biologics co-ordinators. You will provide an efficient and high quality administrative service. Working with a well established team of co-ordinators, doctors, nurses and pharmacists you will be supporting patients to receive their medications to enable them to control their disease. Full training and support will be given.
Main duties of the job
1. Co-ordination of repeat prescriptions
2. Receiving emails from homecare teams
3. Checking patients have had bloods and requesting if not
4. Once results back, generating the prescription
5. Liaising with consultants to sign prescriptions and once returned, ensuring prescription sent to the home care pharmacy team
6. Supporting new patients to register on the system, ensuring GDPR forms are returned
7. Arranging clinic appointments by liaising with various clinical areas
8. Answering any questions and queries from patients
9. Maintaining spreadsheet

Job responsibilities
1. Providing a comprehensive, efficient and high quality administrative service to the clinical team responsible for rheumatology biologic patients.
2. Supplying information in the form of up to date blood tests and clinic letters in order for the patients to obtain repeat prescriptions.
3. Liaising with various clinical areas to co-ordinate patient care, services and treatment, including arranging patient appointments.
4. Provide patients with written confirmation of results and/or liaise with patient or GP as necessary following direction from the nurse specialists.
5. Following blood monitoring assist in co-ordinating patient's hospital admission as appropriate.
6. Assisting in the development of and maintain databases and data collection for education, audit and surveillance purposes where appropriate.
7. Manage incoming and outgoing mail.
8. Preparing letters and uploading documents.
Person Specification
Training and qualification Essential
* Able to demonstrate a good standard of education together with good administrative experience.
* NVQ3 or equivalent.
* Ability to use Microsoft office programmes, produce Excel spreadsheets and databases.
* NHS experience in a similar role.
Desirable
* Experience of medical terminology.
* Understanding of outpatient system including referral, bookings and outcoming.
Experience Essential
* Experience of providing high standards of service in a customer/patient orientated environment.
* Working as a team member.
* Previous experience of working within an administrative team.
* Dealing with third parties for example medical companies.
Desirable
* Experience using NHS systems - Careflow, Notis, Winscribe.

* Excellent communicator, clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
* Team player with aptitude to develop working relationships with others to aid and manage workload in contributing to team directives.
