We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Stocken, a category C Prison located in Oakham.
HMP Stocken consists of 1285 adult males. The Pharmacy at HMP Stocken is not a dispensary pharmacy; there are 6 dispensary hatches within medication/administration points. The pharmacy team consists of a Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, and a Dispenser.
Hours
The site currently offers Mon-Fri 07:30-17:30; Sat/Sun/bank hols 08:30-17:30.
Salary
This position is full time; you’ll receive an annual salary up to £40,211 per annum - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Ensure patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensure standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
* Ensure timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost-effective prescribing as defined through our unique health in justice medicines policy.
* Work together to make a difference to all the people we support, and make Practice Plus Group a place where each of us feels appreciated, challenged and supported to do our best work – fulfilling the lives of others.
* Communicate complex or sensitive information whilst demonstrating empathy and understanding to patients.
* Share information relating to pharmaceutical products, medicines optimisation, drug regimes, medicines legislation, and general health education so that the multidisciplinary healthcare team is appropriately informed.

* You will hold NVQ Level 3, BTEC, or equivalent qualifications and have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC).

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
