Wood is recruiting for an Instrument Pipefitter on a staff basis to join the retained contracts team supporting across all clients. The Instrument Fitter is responsible for the fitting, installation, assembly, and testing of mechanical equipment, particularly instrumentation, including tubing and piping systems, fixtures, gauges, and control devices.
This role has become available due to growth within the trade and craft sector and would be a great opportunity for an individual who enjoys the flexibility of an Ad hoc working pattern.

The Role
You will be supporting Wood's Ad hoc requirements across all clients within the operations business unit. Some of the tasks you will complete include:
1. Perform all required discipline tasks safely, consistently and in accordance with project requirements, standards, procedures and specifications.
2. Participate and carry out toolbox talks as required. Toolbox talks are to be interactive between the deliverer and all recipients, covering the current scope of work, corresponding permits and control of work documents.
3. Responsible for stopping the job and seeking advice from the appropriate person should they have any concerns with a task they are conducting.
4. Complete all work scopes as communicated by the Line Supervisor in accordance with applicable work pack / job card instructions, associated procedures and drawings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Typical responsibilities
An Instrument Pipefitter will usually be expected to undertake platform specific duties which may include:
1. Assisting in the installation and modifications of a variety of Small-Bore Tubing.
2. Bending / running / installing a variety of Small-Bore Tubing, installing supports, bracketry.
3. Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, schematics, and technical drawings to assign tasks and accurately process materials and equipment.
4. Install and repair various types of instrumentation such as temperature, pressure, level, and flow gauges.
5. Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills And Qualifications
Expected:
1. Time served relevant trade discipline or equivalent NVQ / SVQ.
2. ECITB Connected competencies - TSBT 01, 02 & 03.
3. Experience / knowledge of Small-Bore Tubing processes.
4. A sound working knowledge of process systems and /or Hydraulic products and related fabrication procedures.
5. Being able to accurately interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
6. Autoclave, swagelock, parker qualifications.
7. Cold Pipe Bending experience.
Desirable:
1. Previous offshore experience in a similar position is preferred.
