About the Role
The company is currently recruiting for the post of Project Manager to join their Aviation team based at Gatwick Airport.
The successful individual will be working in the 'Projects Team' which undertakes work schemes generally valued between £1m and £20m.
Typical projects would include:
* Perimeter and Spine Road Improvement Schemes
* Drainage Improvements
* Aircraft Stands Replacements
* Resurfacing Works
* RC Structures
* Pit & Duct Improvement Works
* Terminal Building Improvements
* And much more
You will be supporting the business to achieve the best utilisation of plant, systems, technology, time, and resources, to ensure the highest standards are met through high-quality controlled documentation, processes, and procedures.
As a Project Manager in aviation, you will be:
* Manage resilience-related projects or tasks including effective supervision of staff, workforce, and sub-contractors.
* Effectively manage planning and programming, procurement, and health and safety.
* Produce project and task-specific documentation including RAMS, permits, toolbox talks, briefings, and other necessary health and safety documentation.
* Maintain accurate records including actions log, resource allocation, site diaries, and progress monitoring.
* In collaboration with other management team members, establish, develop, and implement plans to ensure effective deployment of staff and resources. Minimise risk and determine effective incident reporting plans.
* Chair weekly forecast and resource meetings with Maintenance and Projects teams and produce a labour board to allocate resources against projects.
* Support the training department and senior managers to ensure resources have the required skills and training.
* Perform Line Manager duties ensuring that the team is supported and provided with necessary tools and resources to achieve set goals at the organisational and individual level.
* Support, coach, guide, and mentor members of the team to ensure excellent results are achieved.
* Provide support and advice in resilience to ensure that future operation, maintenance, and training can be achieved for optimum service delivery and with minimum disruption.
* Contribute to the improvement of the quality and delivery of the daily plan by accurately reporting task data and deviations to plan. Actively seek ways to improve efficiency and service.
* Effectively communicate and liaise with staff, workforce, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
* Implement the requirements of the Company Management System (CMS), as applicable to the business operations.
* Keep up to date with current legislation and industry trends.
Requirements
* Located within travelling distance of Gatwick.
* Hybrid working possible, but likely to be site-based for the majority of the time.
* Good technical knowledge.
* Good communication skills.
* Experience working under NEC contracts.
* Degree or HNC in civil engineering.
* 10 years' experience in the Civil Engineering Sector (Ideally).
* Civils infrastructure / Building experience.
* Work in MOD / Nuclear premises (preferred).
