Our clients, based close to Waterlooville have an exciting opportunity for a Design Manager to join their growing team.
They are a specialist contractor providing the design, supply, and installation of a large range of products including:
? Glazing
? Curtain Walling
? Cladding
? Render
? Steel Frame Systems
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Design Manager will work on a total design solution specific to each project. This will be done by ensuring compliance to clients recommendations/requirements and company procedures.
You be responsible for tasks relating to the project, instructed, and reporting to the Head of Design/Technical.
The main duties of the role are as follows:
? Managing a design team.
? Managing the design process using his/her commercial, contractual, programme/time awareness and technical expertise.
? Supporting, understanding, and advising the client as to the requirements and his/her obligations in the development of a building design.
? Encouraging and inspiring designers to produce their best work using their full flair, experience, resources, and talents in a cost-effective way.
? Ensuring the design process recognises current legislation, standards, and codes of practice, where appropriate.
? Ensuring design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales.
? Striving to eliminate health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Degree, HND or equivalent, ideally in a design or construction related subject.
- Experience leading a design team
- Experience working within the construction industry
