Introduction:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Data Centre Shift Technician to join a leading facility in Slough. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in data centres or those coming from a navy background with relevant mechanical or electrical experience.
Role Overview:
Working on a continental shift pattern covering days and nights (6:30am – 6:30pm), you’ll be responsible for the maintenance and operation of critical systems to ensure the continuous performance of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, including UPS, generators, CRAC units, AHUs, and LV systems.
* Operate and monitor the Building Management System (BMS) to ensure all systems are running efficiently.
* Perform fault-finding and resolve technical issues promptly to minimise downtime.
* Complete routine inspections and ensure all maintenance records are up to date.
* Liaise with contractors and suppliers for specialist maintenance tasks.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and site-specific procedures.
* Support the team with technical expertise and assist in maintaining operational standards.
