An exciting job role has recently become available at the London Borough of Croydon Council. They are looking for a new member for their Hospital & D2A Team. This is a close-knit team with extremely supportive and experienced managers, capped caseloads, and excellent learning and development opportunities.
Responsibilities:
As a Social Worker, you will conduct assessments and ensure timely discharges. You will take personal responsibility for continuing professional development and maintaining performance levels. You will manage your time effectively and respond flexibly to service needs, provide support and cover for the Team Manager and/or Principal Manager, and actively participate in the performance management system, including supervision, PAR, team meetings, and service reviews. You will follow departmental health and safety procedures, develop skills through work experience in various divisional situations such as secondments, job rotation, and shadowing, and contribute to information management processes. Additionally, you will support social work students on placement under the direction of the Principal or Practice Manager, acting as a workplace supervisor or Practice Teacher if appropriately trained. Child Protection Social Workers need to understand and integrate into practice the key policies of the council in relation to social care with children and families, especially multi-disciplinary working, integration, and whole family approaches.

Qualifications and Experiences:
To be successful in this role, you must have Social Work England registration and be eligible to work in the UK. Additionally, you need to hold a full UK licence and possess post-qualified experience. A degree level or equivalent qualification in Social Work is also required. You must have strong written and verbal communication skills and a minimum of 2 years of experience to be successful in this role. The ideal candidate for the Social Work role will have several years of experience in a relevant team. You will have experience undertaking assessments and ensuring timely discharges.
