Chef / Assistant Catering Manager
BET Grade 5A-C £32,146 - £33,511 ( Actual salary £27,942 - £29,128) based on full time, 37 hours per week, working 5 in 7 days including weekends

We are seeking a talented and motivated Chef/Assistant Catering Manager to join our team. In this dual role, you will not only showcase your culinary expertise but also play a key role in managing and coordinating catering operations. The successful candidate will have a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing dishes, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to lead a team to success. We offer a good work life balance with working term time only - summer and Christmas off! And no late nights.
Responsibilities:
Culinary Excellence:
● Plan, prepare, and execute high-quality and diverse menus for a range of age groups, ensuring exceptional taste, presentation, and quality.
● Stay updated on culinary trends, incorporating innovative ideas into menus to delight our students and colleagues
Team Leadership:
● Lead and motivate kitchen staff to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
● Provide guidance, training, and support to kitchen team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Catering Operations:
● Collaborate with the Catering Manager to plan and organise special catering events, ensuring seamless execution from start to finish.
● Oversee food production for whole school and boarding students, inventory management, and supplier relationships to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
Quality Control:
● Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the kitchen and during catering events.
● Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure all dishes meet our standards of excellence.
