An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Long-Term Care team within Primary Care Directorate Hywel Dda University Health Board for a Business Support Manager.
The successful candidate will provide robust administrative duties as well as project and business support. This will include reviewing, improving documentation processes, implementing ideas for change, and ensuring business continuity of the Service. As well as being responsible for leading and managing the Business Support Function of the Long-Term Care Team including line management, supervision, and training & development of the business support team.
Candidates must have experience of working in busy office environments, including communication on highly sensitive matters, and the use and development of spreadsheets and databases. Candidates must be self-motivating, able to work as effective team members, and be able to manage their own workloads to meet changing priorities.
To be successful in this role you will need to have strong organisational and communication skills, with experience in management ideally within the NHS and with knowledge of Continuing Health Care.

Main duties of the job
* Responsible for leading and managing the Business Support Function of the Long-Term Care Team including the line management, supervision, and training & development of sub-team members.
* Manage the Long-Term Care Team's generic email account and respond to / reroute email requests received.
* Responsible for providing effective administrative, secretarial, project, and business support to the Long-Term Care Team.
* Responsible for all levels of enquiries regarding Continuing Healthcare and NHS Funded Nursing Care, as the first point of contact in West Wales. The nature of this work could be complex, sensitive, and intense.
* Provide a comprehensive and effective administrative, secretarial, project, and business support service to the Health Board's Continuing Healthcare and NHS Funded Nursing Care processes, i.e., typing letters, taking messages, updating electronic diaries, arranging meetings, providing advice regarding various Microsoft Office packages, documentation layout, and resolving IT issues.
* Support the Senior Management Team (and wider Long-Term Care Team) in the review, interpretation, and implementation of prescribed policies and procedures, and the development and implementation of new policies and procedures specific to the Long-Term Care Team.

* Educated to degree level in a relevant subject, e.g., Business Management, Human Resource Management, Operations Management etc., or equivalent level of relevant knowledge or experience.
* Understands the key business functions of large organisations.
* Understands how communication styles can affect people differently, and how to adapt to achieve the best outcomes.
* Knows how to manage small-scale, discreet projects.
Desirable
* Is educated to advanced level or equivalent.
* Has knowledge of Continuing Healthcare and NHS Funded Nursing Care.

Experience

* Has experience in undertaking a full range of administrative duties in an office environment.
