A well-established manufacturer that is looking for a Junior Toolmaker to join the team.
The Role
- Manufacture in part or total a plastic injection mould tool from a general assembly.
- Maintain and repair existing production mould tooling to a high standard.
- Record and monitor tool repairs to help identify reoccurring problems.
- Examine and modify detailed drawings or specifications to determine a BOM.
- Make small press tools where practical.
- Provide technical support to help resolve day-to-day tooling issues, working closely with the technical department and production.
- Carry out periodical (daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly) preventive maintenance.
- Maintain the highest standards of safe working at all times, regarding own safety and that of colleagues working in close proximity.
- Ensure that any issues requiring attention, which are beyond own remit, are quickly raised and dealt with.
- Follow health & safety policy and standards, including the correct wearing of the appropriate PPE.
The Candidate
- An engineering qualification.
- Experience with CNC or manual machines.
- Able to read engineering drawings.
- CAM experience would be highly beneficial.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Should have good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must be able to work to high precision.
Salary
The salary offered for this position is £22,000- £30,000 plus a bonus depending on whether a candidate can meet all key qualifications and abilities.
