Our client is a global leader in the laboratory diagnostics market, specializing in the immunodiagnostics and molecular diagnostics segments looking to onboard a Service Engineer within the Diagnostics or Wider Medical space looking to upskill their product knowledge within immunodiagnostics.
Job Purpose
As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing responsive, effective, and professional technical service and support to customers via phone and site visits, always with the aim of maximizing equipment uptime and productivity.
Responsibilities
1. Provide phone support to address technical issues within contract-defined response times (e.g., 1 hour).
2. Visit customer sites to troubleshoot, repair equipment, and meet response times (e.g., same-day or next-day).
3. Perform preventative maintenance (PM) per schedules and corporate standards.
4. Install upgrades to ensure instrument performance, safety, and reliability.
5. Support instrument installation, decommissioning, and laboratory system interfacing.
6. Handle technical hotline support, assist customers, and create/dispatch work orders.
7. Manage a small U.K. parts stock, including inventory control, shipping, and replenishment.
Personal Specification
1. Minimum 2 years experience as a field service engineer within a medical laboratory environment.
2. Immunoassay experience (desirable but not essential).
3. Experience within robotics, industrial print, or liquid handling would also be considered.
Package
1. Base salary up to £47,000 depending on experience level.
2. Bonus up to 10% of base salary.
3. Company Car.
4. Pension scheme - employer contributes up to 12% of base salary.
5. No overtime or on-call.
6. 25 days + Bank Holidays.
