An alternative provision is seeking an experienced teaching assistant to join their support staff team. This school is looking for staff to support Key Stage 2 and 3 students who have social, emotional, mental health, and behaviour-associated needs. With a strong focus on sport, candidates with a sporting background will be highly desirable. As a relatively small school, they are eager to find someone who can seamlessly integrate into their close-knit team. Therefore, personality, motivation, and additional skills will be key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide opportunities for students to progress academically, socially, and emotionally
- Lead by example as a positive role model
- Offer guidance and mentoring to students
- Foster a safe and supportive learning environment
- Manage and respond to challenging or disruptive behaviour
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience working with special educational needs as a teacher, teaching assistant, or carer
- A passion for working in education
- A proactive approach to supporting students with diverse needs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and families
- Up-to-date safeguarding training
To Be Eligible for This Role, You Must:
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK
- Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years
