Currently, we have an exciting opportunity for a Metocean Data Analyst to join our expanding team, based in the heart of the southwest of the UK.

About you
- Degree in oceanography, marine science, data science, physics, mathematics or engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience in oceanographic data processing (principally from current doppler profilers, marine sensors and wave buoys)
- MATLAB user & script writer (including debugging).
- Advanced user of MS Excel.
- Experienced in applying data QC protocols.
- Experienced in writing succinct, accurate data reports.
- Excellent proof-reading skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines and to work on multiple projects.
- Systematic and methodical approach with a fine attention to detail.
- Ability to present data and communicate results effectively and clearly.
- A highly motivated, technical team-player who is methodical, organised and logical.
We would prefer you to base yourself at our Devon office and you may find this easier if you have a driving licence (not necessary for the job).

The Role
The Data Analyst is responsible for the final deliverables (data and reporting) across all measurement projects. In this role you will complete metocean data processing, report writing and quality control of measurement project outputs.
Data Processing & Analysis:
• Understand the technical outputs of all meteorological and oceanographic equipment in the Partrac equipment pool.
• Utilise MATLAB data processing scripts and additional toolboxes.
• Scrutinise data for error, outliers and potential equipment issues.
• Coordinate with the team to process and analyse meteorological and oceanographic data.
Reporting:
• Write scientifically robust technical reports.
• Deliver work to required standards and meet client deadlines.
• Format, check and review of technical reports.
Business Systems:
• Provide input into Continuous Improvement Groups.
• Recording of non-compliance and incident reports.
