Security Supervisor

Job overview
* Lead, mentor and motivate the security staff and team leaders across all sites.
* Line manager responsibility for security team leaders and second line manager for security staff.
* Monitor the safety, performance and wellbeing of all staff.
* Reporting all absences in a timely manner to the security operations manager and take any necessary action to ensure correct staff numbers.
* Ensure all staff are briefed accordingly by team leaders.
* Draw up weekly staff rosters ensuring all shifts are covered. In conjunction with the Security Admin Officer Booking and allocation of staff holidays.
* In the absence of the Security admin officer maintain staff attendance records, including inputting information on to ESR and SMART IT systems within agreed Trust timeframes.
Main duties of the job
* Provide day to day supervision and direction to the security / car parking officers on site
* Provide day to day support to the security operations manager and Heads of Security in a wide range of duties.
* To provide a high quality and effective security service for staff, patients and visitors to ensure a safe and secure environment.
* Protect NCA property, detect and prevent crime.
* Helping users, including the public, and acting as the first point of contact on minor travel and parking enquiries and issues.
* Monitoring and controlling parking areas to ensure safe and effective operation.

Person specification
Driving
* Full Clean UK Driving Licence
* Conflict resolution / physical intervention training.
* Security related qualification or equivalent experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience
* Experience of leading a front line team across multiple sites
* Knowledge of a full range of work procedures and practices for a security service. Physical intervention training and knowledge of Mental Health Act in relation to security. This would be gained through relevant training and experience.
* Able to work alone or as part of a team.
* Able to use initiative.
* Experience of conflict management, violence and aggression.
* Good knowledge of IT keyboard skills
* Able to deal with the public, including to deal fairly but firmly with all customers, including those who may be dissatisfied with the service
* To be a good communicator
* To be customer focussed particularly towards patients and visitors.
* Evidence of managing own work load and members within a team
* SIA licence for Public Space Surveillance (CCTV). On site will be provided
* SIA licence for static guarding.
* Experience working in a NHS setting.
* Understanding of parking and travel choices.
