Due to our growing portfolio of Power & Energy projects, we have the opportunity for a Senior/ Principal Civil Engineer to join our Manchester office. The role will offer the opportunity to lead design of civil infrastructure across a range of projects within the Grid & Energy Storage market.
We work with a number of high-profile developer and contractor clients including SSE, EDF, Scottish Power, UK Power Networks, Murphy, Jones Bros, Farrans, I&H Brown and Power Systems.
Principal Civil Engineer with experience working on one or more of the following areas: transmission grid infrastructure; distribution grid infrastructure; substations; converter stations; switching stations; and HVDC projects.
To lead design and delivery of civils design packages. Alignment/ earthworks design of access junctions, access tracks, roads, crane hardstanding’s, substation platforms, construction compounds and temporary works compounds. Highways improvement design to facilitate delivery of abnormal loads to development sites. Drainage design of watercourse crossings including culverts and bridges as well as networks for substation compound buildings and supporting infrastructure.

Qualifications
7. Civil/ structural engineering degree or equivalent industry experience
8. Chartered Engineer with ICE or IHT

10. Providing technical oversight of civil engineering designs including calculations, drawings and other documents, ensuring these are controlled during execution of projects
11. Undertaking design checks and peer review checks
12. Providing leadership to a team of civil engineers and BIM designers
13. Mentoring and coaching talent
14. Supporting Directors to achieve budget and strategy targets across Power & Energy portfolio
15. Working closely with business managers on resource management, utilisation monitoring, and pipeline management
16. Developing existing and new business
17. Developing tender responses, including scoping, pricing and programming of works
