About the Role:
As a Linguistics Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to provide targeted support to students, helping them strengthen their language and communication skills.
1. Supporting students with phonics, reading, writing, and comprehension through 1:1 and small group sessions
2. Assisting in the development of speech and language skills, fostering a love for language
3. Helping students with spelling, grammar, and vocabulary building
4. Working alongside the class teacher to deliver lessons and provide tailored interventions for students who need extra help
5. Monitoring and reporting on student progress, ensuring that learning needs are met
Ideal Candidate:
1. Holds a 2:1 or First-Class degree in Linguistics or a related field from a top UK university
2. Strong understanding of language development and a passion for supporting young learners
3. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with children
4. Patient, empathetic, and dedicated to fostering students' academic growth
5. Experience in a primary school or educational setting is beneficial but not required
