This opportunity is in the solution design and development arena for IT Consultant who will play a major role with the technical design and development of the company’s technical offerings. The position is based at our Leicester office with occasional assignments at client locations.
Job Description (Main Duties and Responsibilities):
In-depth knowledge of IT systems, software, hardware, and networking. This could include specific areas like cybersecurity, cloud computing, or data management.
Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively.
Understanding of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum, PMP) to oversee and implement IT projects.
Ability to analyze business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
Skills in managing client relationships, including understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
Insight into how different IT solutions impact business operations and objectives.
Ability to develop long-term IT strategies that align with the client's business goals.
Proficiency in creating comprehensive documentation for technical solutions, processes, and systems.
Experience in managing relationships with third-party vendors and evaluating their products/services
Proficiency in creating comprehensive documentation for technical solutions, processes, and systems.
Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) and scripting for automating tasks or developing solutions.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience Needed [The candidate must demonstrate these in all stages of assessment]
2 to 3 years of experience working as an IT Analyst or a related field
Knowledge of designing and implementing network architectures, including LAN, WAN, and VPNs.
Understanding of protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and
Skills in securing networks against threats, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption.
Proficiency in managing various operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and macOS.
Skills in managing virtual environments using tools like VMware, Hyper-V, or VirtualBox.
Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
Familiarity with major cloud service providers (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
Understanding of cloud services such as computing, storage, databases, and networking.
Understanding of languages such as Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript for developing applications and solutions.
Knowledge of industry regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
Proficiency in using project management tools like Jira, Trello, or Microsoft Project.
