An exciting opportunity has become available for the role of Administration Manager in the Medical Day Unit, Chelsea. Under the supervision of the Sisters and the Matron, the post holder will coordinate all administrative aspects including reception, scheduling appointments, clerical duties and data collection. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the schedulers team – organising and allocating tasks, management of the team roster, recruitment, training and supporting of staff. The post holder will work closely with the Sisters, nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient use of resources in order to provide a high standard of care and an effective service.
The successful candidate must be able to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, multi-task and work under pressure. They will be required to have experience of providing excellent administrative and organisational support, with a positive approach to change and service improvement.
We are looking for candidates who have a good standard of office experience, and who have good healthcare I.T. skills, experience of using EPIC is desirable. We require excellent communication, organisational and time management skills. As well as good interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate yourself and others.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work to facilitate the efficient administration within the Medical Day Unit. They will be responsible for the management, training and performance of the administration staff within this key area to ensure the provision of a high quality, effective and customer focused
service.
The post holder will have management responsibility for all administration staff within the department and will ensure that all clinics are well managed.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Ensure the recruitment of competent administration staff in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
2. Ensure the administration staff undergo a comprehensive induction process and are regularly monitored to ensure compliance in using the EPIC system and accuracy of data entry.
3. Ensure administration staff undertake the relevant mandatory training updates within the required timeframes and provide appropriate training within the department to ensure ongoing staff development.
4. Undertake administration staff appraisals and personal development plans in accordance with the Trusts policies and procedures and liaise with Ward Sister/ Charge Nurse to resolve performance issues in line with Trust policy and procedure.

Flu Vaccination – What We Expect of our Staff
At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.
The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
