We are looking for an Education Director who shares our values, ambitions, and commitments to take our trust into the next chapter of its compelling story. The Education Director role makes up part of the trust’s Executive Leadership Team, with responsibility for learners aged 2-19 and in both mainstream and specialised settings. At this time we are particularly interested in candidates whose background includes leadership of mainstream secondary schools.
Cabot Learning Federation (CLF) is a diverse West Country multi-academy trust which is home to 35 schools operating in five clusters in Bristol, Gloucestershire, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and Somerset.
The CLF is unique due to its tight geographical concentration, the diversity of the communities it serves, and the variety of educational provisions it offers. We are one of the largest and most respected trusts in the South West and hold national as well as regional recognition due to the breadth and influence of strong practice in our trust.
Our collaborative culture, driven by a strong moral purpose, is key to our success. We believe strong collaboration can drive school improvement and embed excellence in our academies. Our team is united with the common goal of delivering outstanding educational experiences and promoting the life chances of the young people in our academies now and in the future.
Following a recent period of growth, we are proud to serve circa 18,000 pupils who all attend one of our 10 secondary academies, 17 primary academies, an all-through provision, a studio school, a discrete post-16 provision, three special schools and two alternative provisions spanning the age ranges.
Who are we looking for:
As a member of the Executive Team, the successful candidate will help to define and lead the trust’s strategic direction, and secure high performance in all aspects of CLF life.
Reporting to the Deputy CEO, the Education Director will line manage Executive Principals, Senior Principals and Principals as well as leaders of key cross-trust areas of provision. The postholder will also be responsible for a range of key pan-trust portfolio priority areas including both strategic development and operational delivery.
Education Directors have a 2-19 role and are responsible for the quality of educational provision across all phases and all types of settings within the trust. Education Directors guide and influence the CLF’s educational philosophy and strategy, securing the trust’s mission and upholding the HEART values.
Other responsibilities include implementing the trust strategy to secure improvement, growth and high performance, and acting at a trust-wide level to ensure the CLF remains effective, efficient and high performing across all areas.
