A Clinical Pharmacist at Montu will utilise their clinical expertise as part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the management of medicines, structured remote consultations, and medication reviews. They will oversee transfer of care processes and implement systems to enhance safe prescribing practices. Additionally, they will collaborate with both clinical and non-clinical teams to ensure the secure prescribing and dispensing of CBMP to patients. This role is instrumental in improving care quality and operational efficiency, requiring strong motivation and a passion for delivering exceptional service. Role and responsibilities: Clinically checking prescriptions for CBMP. Ensuring imported CBMP is available for patients in a timely manner. Ensuring all regulations are met with respect to ordering, receiving, storing and supplying CBMP. Maintaining the necessary records required for CBMP to GPHC standards. Ensure patients have the relevant information and counselling to use CBMP safely, including advice on using equipment such as vaporisors. Providing advice on availability of CBMP to all prescribers to minimise disruption of supply to patients. Work with various stakeholders to ensure supply of CBMP is as safe as possible, including importers and CDAO. To maintain security of CBMP whilst working as a Responsible Pharmacist. Supervise the work of other pharmacy colleagues. Remote consultations with patients who have already been prescribed CBPM and need regular monitoring and follow up Work closely with consultants and other clinicians as part of an MDT team to manage and monitor safe prescribing in line with guidelines Work closely with partner pharmacies to ensure smooth dispensing and delivery of medication to patients Work with Medical Director and Head of Governance to manage and develop policies relating to medicines management, prescribing audit and other relevant policies Manage the repeat prescribing reauthorisation process by reviewing patient requests for repeat prescriptions and reviewing medicines reaching review dates and flagging up those needing a review. Undertake clinical audits of prescribing Maintain patients’ electronic health records Implement changes to medicines that result from MHRA alerts, product withdrawal and other local and national guidance Work with the governance and operational teams to ensure the practices are compliant with CQC standards where medicines are involved To contribute to the efficient running and profitability of the service by monitoring and auditing of medicines Attend work related meetings as required To maintain all mandatory training and familiarity with company policies and SOPS Shift based and flexible working maybe required from time to time Hours of Work 40 hour week - Monday - Friday (1 weekend per month) What We Are Looking For • GPhC-registered pharmacist with an Independent Prescriber (IP) qualification • Experience in a clinical setting. • Knowledge of CBPM or willingness to undergo specialised training. • Excellent communication and counselling skills. • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities. • A proactive, patient-focused approach to care.
