About the School
Due to the expansion of our specialist offer, an exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a passionate Assistant SENCO and Deputy DSL to support the running of our new Orchard Specialist Provision. The Orchard will be a satellite site of our current Rectory Specialist Provision for pupils with Autism and will open in September 2025. The provision will cater for 32 children across four specialist classrooms. We are committed to maintaining links with our current Rectory site and specialist provision which will allow us take away any ceilings for our children and offer a pathway that links with a mainstream offer. About the Role
Main purpose:
1. Under the reasonable direction of the Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher, carry out the professional duties of a schoolteacher as set out in the current School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD).
2. Act as deputy DSL with specific responsibility for the Orchard Specialist Provision.
3. Support and develop the strategic development of special educational needs (SEN) policy and provision in the school as part of the senior leadership team.
4. Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Orchard Specialist Provision.
5. Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils with SEND, in accordance with the school's aims and curricular policies.
6. Co-ordinate, manage and commission provision for pupils with SEND within the Orchard Specialist Provision.
7. Plan, implement and review the education, health and care plans (EHCP) for pupils within the Orchard Specialist Provision.
8. Provide professional guidance and support for staff for pupils with SEND.
9. Monitor and support the overall progress and development of pupils with SEND.
10. Ensure that School meets its responsibilities under the Children and Families Act 2014, Equality Act 2010, including all legislation with regard to SEND and the reasonable adjustments and access arrangements that are expected of the school.
