The role of the Dermatology Patient Pathway Co-ordinator is integral to the Dermatology Department for tracking, developing and monitoring the pathways of care for those patient groups who are transitioning from systemic to biologic treatments.
Working as a member of the Dermatology Biologics Specialist Team, the post holder will provide a combination of support and administration duties in the delivery of services for patients primarily with Eczema, Psoriasis, and Alopecia, making a direct and positive contribution to the work of the team. The post holder must exercise initiative and judgement when dealing with patient enquiries, requests, prescriptions, referrals, and results, and be able to prioritise importance accordingly.
The post holder is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the patient pathway, from initial two week wait (2WW) referral to treatment and follow up care within the skin cancer pathway.
The key tasks involve managing the individual clinical outcomes for each patient, ensuring that the relevant pathway is followed, and appropriate action is taken. The individual will need to use their initiative to ensure efficient and effective use of available resources.
To exercise initiative, independent judgment, and decision-making with situations arising from the duties described below to ensure an effective, high-quality service.
