QUALITY INSPECTOR – LATE SHIFT
Our client is an industry leading gear manufacturing company. Their customers are in the Aerospace, Defence & OEM markets. They are looking to employ on a full-time permanent basis an experienced Quality Inspector for their newly introduced late shift. This role will be based out of their workshop located in Hampshire.
The basis of the role is to perform mechanical inspection, documenting results, updating results onto the QMS and signing release documents.
Quality Inspector – Late Shift – Offer
1. Shift 1 (Initial Training)
2. Up to £20.00/hr depending on experience – Annual £41,600
3. Hours are Mon-Thurs 06:30 – 15:15, and 06:00 – 13:00, Friday. A 40 hour week.
4. Breaks are 09:30 – 10:00 and 12:30 – 13:00, one which must be taken and cannot be worked, 1 break is paid.
5. Shift 2 (after initial training)
6. £20.00/hr + 20% shift premium - £24.00/hr (Shift 2 and the premium will start once training and the full shift of staff are in place) – Annual £46,200.
7. Overtime x 1.5, only worked prior to the start of shift.
8. Hours are Mon-Thurs 14:45 to 00:00 - 37.0-hour week.
9. Break is 18:45 – 19:15, paid.

Quality Inspector – Late Shift – Responsibilities
1. Inspect and approve incoming / outgoing materials and products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and reporting any non-conforming materials or products.
2. Perform first off, in-process and final inspection by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor and operator.
3. Read technical drawings, control plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
4. Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste, and input data into quality database.
5. Raising and signing release documents (CofC, Advice Notes, etc.).
6. Keep measurement equipment operating.
7. Communicating with the Quality/Engineering department about how to prevent similar defects in the future.
8. Adhere to the company’s health and safety requirements and complete training as required.
Quality Inspector – Late Shift – Requirements
1. A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
2. Strong understanding of quality control / inspection standards and testing techniques/methods (use of micrometres, verniers, DTIs, height gauges, CMM, etc.) (essential).
3. Strong understanding technical drawings and GD&T (essential).
4. Good math and technical skills (essential).
5. Good knowledge of MS Office.
6. General knowledge of gear metrology.
7. FAIR/PPAP knowledge.
